I was going to scan some more caricatures last night but the nice scanner wasn't working. Here's another commission:

"There was a thud of metal as Ginny's cauldron went flying; Mr. Weasley had thrown himself at Mr. Malfoy, knocking him backwards into a bookshelf. Dozens of heavy spellbooks came thundering down on all their heads; there was a yell of, "Get him, Dad!" from Fred or George; Mrs. Weasley was shrieking, "No, Arthur, no!"; the crowd stampeded backward, knocking more shelves over; "Gentlemen, please-please!" cried the assistant ...

Just for the record I do not know what I was thinking when I designed Malfoy's robes. Seriously.

Bet you thought you'd never see another HP picture in here... :)

Great, as usual, although I can't help thinking Mr Weasley looks a lot like Obi-Wan from the original SW saga.

Mr Weasley is very much based on someone I met shortly after getting into Harry Potter, so I can confidently proclaim Obi-Wan had no part in this. The robe design was just trying to think of a way to accommodate all the descriptions of how the robes work in the books, which are often contradictory, and predates this drawing by at least a year.

I am happy that your Mr Weasley is thin and bearded: beardless Mr Weasley (like in the movie) is just not right.

Well, I have to say, I came for the Harry Potter drawings, but I stayed for the Discworld drawings.

I've been wanting to see this scene fleshed out for a long time, but I think you're the first person I'm familiar with who has actually done it--so, thanks for that! I don't know why, but Mr. Malfoy looks kind of like an evil monk in this--I like the design, though.

There's a Bugs Bunny cartoon that's a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde spoof, and the assistant in this looks sort of like the poor meek Dr. Jekyll in that cartoon. Hilarious!

Arthur Weasley--my hero! Anybody who decks Lucius Malfoy is tops in my book. Love Arthur's scary RAWWWRRR expression. I think about Dryden's "Beware the fury of a patient man" when I see this.

Hoo-dy-HOO! Get him, Mr. Weasley!

I think after he found out what Malfoy did, he wanted to go after the SOB again, this time with his wand.

It's gotta be the beard ... I've had this robe design for ages and no one's commented on it before this drawing.

Ooohhh, Tealin's HP drawings! I did not know how much I've missed you before I've seen you again.

Your Arthur Design is love. And it's so good to see a short-haired Lucius Malfoy again.
The compostion created by the position of teh arms and faces is really nice, too.

Well, I sure hope this was as much fun for you to draw as it was for me to look at. :)

Well, if the movie wasn't so ubiquitous and Makani's art not so awesome, maybe short-haired Lucius would have stood a chance.. :)

Something about Lucius's face reminds me of Gargoyles, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

WOW!!! If I have seen this picture - it was so long ago that I don't even remember having seen it in the first instance. Shaaameee! But it is good jolly fun to see HP artwork up on your lj again. Really takes me back - I remember emailing you, in a very simpering annoying fashion, about HP over and over again - my emails were answered after months and with only short replies until you discovered I was the only other female in the world (at the time) who was unhealthily obsessed with 18th century rebel naturalists :D

/nostalgia

And I see shades of what would eventually become your Holmes in that Malfoy up there...

You know what Malfoy's robes make me think of?

The robes the sisters at San Tanco wore on The Flying Nun.
