Drawings 21 and 22 - Impressions of Singers

Yes okay I kind of disappeared there for a bit shut up I'VE BEEN BUSY.

Cast your mind back, get in that happy end-of-the-week feeling, and then see Friday's drawing:

Back in the day (probably 2005?) someone had me watch a My Chemical Romance video for some reason or other – probably not the oral contortions of the lead singer, but that's all I came away with.

Okay, go take a little nap, wake up later than you were expecting but earlier than you hoped, eat a hot dog while listening to Car Talk, and have Saturday's drawing:
If Avril Lavigne were a cat .... This was drawn in response to Outside the House, possibly my favourite skewering of the Dreamworks way of making movies. Not that I've seen that many. Anyway, Avril Lavigne as a wisecracking celebrity-voiced CG animal, drawn probably in ten minutes while avoiding storyboarding or something, at about the same time as the drawing above yesterday. No reference was used in the making of this drawing but living in Canada it's kind of hard to escape her.

And now I am going to sleep. SLEEP. YES. Nuffworkingfornow, g'night.

Haha, the My Chemical Romance singer (his name's Gerard Way, btw - see icon). Very cute. He's super expressive. I hated his band at first, oh man. I lumped them in with all the other new music that was like "that," but then I discovered he was a crazy huge Smashing Pumpkins fan, and loved Star Wars, and then he did Umbrella Academy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Umbrella_Academy), which is wonderful, and now I like him more than I should. I still think some of their music is hit and miss, but I like a fair amount of it, now, too. Anyway, if I could draw like you I'd love to try drawing him. His eyebrows are all over the place. Maybe I'll try and post it and you can give me tips on how to draw better? :D

Avril!Kitty is way prettier than actual Avril. (And my deep dark secret is for some reason, I find her to be pretty, but no one must ever know. It was hard enough admitting I liked My Chemical Romance.) ;)

I used to like Avril Lavigne when I was 22-23. Because I'm so mature, I was really into teen stuff in my early 20s and is really into early 20s stuff now. :D

I never really got into the MCR fandom. Everybody was on about them, so I got my friend in college to download some videos on her laptop that we watched. Now she likes them, and I don't really... That much make up, earrings and plastic on a male singer tends to make me miss Guns'N Roses and the grunge days.
