This had a back story once upon a time, but it is lost to the ether. Perhaps it's better that way:

Yesterday I realized that in a year, chances are Frog will be out on DVD* and I will finally be able to post A BILLION SCREENCAPTURES of all my favourite frames, and make the icons I've been plotting for months now. Sometimes living in the future can be so hard!

And eeeeeveeeerrryyyy child in this world will read your name in legal and pirated copies of them. And they never, ever, chop the credits even in pirated copies. Children in China can see youuuur naaaaame ^^

How scary is that?

Children in China who can read English and bother to watch the credits can read my name.

I wonder ... how many people who buy/download/watch pirated movies ever bother to watch the long list of names of people whose careers they are putting in jeopardy?

I've asked myself that same question a billion times.

A few years ago we had some trouble with Warner Bros. cuz they reduced the number of films they sent to dub for the DVD. They said piracy was cutting into their costs and that it was less expensive to send the region 1 version instead of spending on dubbing for the region 4 DVD. So that was less work for us for a while, until people complained and WB resumed the dubbing.

Yeah, I plan on writing a big long fussy rant about the consequences on piracy and how it leads to less and poorer quality media for everyone, but that'll have to wait till I'm done making the media.

...not really sure. I know that Gurinder Chadha (lady who wrote and directed Bend it Like Beckham) caught a few piraters in India and she asked , "Why are you cheating your own sister from her money?" They said, "Share the wealth laaaa,"

Dobby?

Although I can't remember Dobby ever wearing a Santa hat.

Nope, I would definitely have drawn him to look like my Dobby if Dobby were who he was supposed to be. I suspect it was an odd conversation or misheard line that made a funny picture in my head ...

Eh, big eyes and large pointy ears always make me think "Dobby" now.

Aren't odd conversations and misheard lines fun?
