I.

Here it is, the explosive cliffhanger of Teenage Comic: Episode 1 ...

Yes, that's right, I could not draw Mickey at all! He gave me such difficulty that I never tried drawing Mickey again until starting my traineeship. Dead Mickey says 'Urrrh!'

II.

Radio 4, I love you forever and ever. The most recent episode of Heresy (premise: smart people being funny, funny people being smart, or both) says everything I ever wanted to say about Prize-Winning Literature and more, AND throws in props for Pratchett. So much love. So much. How does it stand being so awesome?

In further Pratchett news, who wants to move to Wincanton (twinned with Ankh-Morpork)? Welcome to Treacle Mine Road.

And the world of post-modern art is hilariously skewered in Arturart! (that one's for you, Tony)

If I had the finances and ability I would absolutely buy a place on Treacle Mine Road! *wistful sigh*

Aha! Perhaps you were expecting Martin? Nay, 'tis Mickey!

Every time I see Mickey now, I remember the time I told my mom, "You know, if Minnie was a real mouse, she'd have twelve boobs."

Treacle Mine Road sounds like a great place to live.

Loved "Heresy", thanks for that! I tried searching for other episodes of Heresy but nothing came up. Do they have older episodes online somewhere?

Having been to an artsy-fartsy art school, I thought Arturart had the potential to be much funnier. The capital "A" Art world takes itself sooooo seriously that it's just soooo satisfying to make fun of it.... that reminds me of the movie Art School Confidential, which I also thought never really lived up to its potential. (Although I have to say the "critique" scenes were priceless. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFa4ySkv9Dg&NR=1s The student who says "It has the singularity of outsider art, blah blah blah", is acting almost, but not quite, as affected as a girl I had in a few of my classes. At least this guy's artspeak makes a little sense, whereas the girl I knew could go on for ages and I'm pretty sure never actually say anything!!!)

As far as I know the BBC does not have online archives of most of its shows, Heresy included. Your best bets are either to find it on a torrent site somewhere (I hate piracy but they leave no other options) or keep an eye on BBC7 which reruns old 4 shows all the time. unfortunately there are a lot of old 4 shows to rerun, so it may take a while to come up again ...

Arturart could have been funnier, yes, but I think the point of the show was to make a new art movement by mocking existing ones, rather than simply devote all time and energy to the mocking. After all, he is a comedian, not an artist, so hasn't been a captive audience of Artistes taking themselves waaaaay too seriously for years and years.
