I've got a ticket to ride ...

I've got a ticket to ri-hi-hide ...

I've got a ticket to ride – all the way to London in a metal canister with wings hurtling at ridiculous speed through the upper atmosphere above frozen arctic wastes! BOOYEAH!

They usually turn east at about Iceland, in my experience, but then I've only ever flown back from New York... Still, have fun!

When I flew to Dublin we went over Greenland! Greeenlaaand! I saw Greenland! I had to sneak the peek, too; the airplane staff were very adamant about keeping the windows shut for some reason...

Yeah, I remember glaciers - it was awesome.

I wonder if there still are glaciers anymore...

That'll be a thing to tell the grankids. "When I was alive - there were still glaciers."

"oOooo!"

Were you on BA? We were supposed to keep the shades down as well. Like you, I sneaked a peak over Greenland. It was September, and you could see iceburgs that had calved off.

I was amazed to find that by the route they fly Seattle is closer to London than New York! I am amazed at how close the planes fly over Windsor Castle coming into Heathrow.

Nope, it was Aer Lingus. I suspect they all follow the same guidelines, probably something about 'letting people sleep' or some such nonsense. They've just got it in for anyone with an interest in geography. (Greenland!)

No kidding. There is a REASON I ask for a window seat. I can never sleep on planes anyway, although I adjust pretty well going east. Anyway, have a great time and stay off the bridges if there are Death Eaters around.

take a towel or sweatshirt or something and jam it into the part of the window you are not looking out of.
