No sketchbook entries for yesterday because I rather stupidly left it at work.

On the way in this morning, there was a guy standing on the side of the busy road holding a great big sign that said "HONK FOR PEACE" – it's a nice thought, but ... struck me as a little ironic.

"If you don't like the weather in [location], just wait [10/15] minutes."

They say this everywhere I have ever been. So far it hasn't been true in any of those places. There are changeable days, yes ... but not every day. In the place with the most changeable weather of all my residences, I once had to wait thirty-eight DAYS until it stopped being sunny. (Except at night, of course, when it was not sunny, but remained clear nonetheless.) If you wait fifteen minutes, the angle of the sun will shift by a few degrees, but this hardly counts as "weather." In another place and time, if you wait fifteen minutes, you might get a different kind of rain, but this hardly constitutes a "weather" change either. It's time we put a stop to this ridiculous adage!

I live in Wisconsin, which was a big swing state. During elections, people were on the streets with "Honk for Kerry" signs admist Bush/ Cheney lawn signs. It was definitely an interesting time.

Haven't experienced any of that "Honk For Peace" stuff. But that 'Wait 10/15 minutes' things applies in Sydney. God, the weather is whack, I tell you ~
