At last – I have finally finished timing out the cleaned-up board for the One Month Prologue to Going Postal.

If you have the Flash Player (you probably do), and have a high-speed connection or a lot of patience (it's 2.3MB), click to see! There aren't any sound effects yet – the one important one is indicated by the word "clink!" which appears onscreen for a couple frames, where someday there will actually be a clink. If you want to watch it again once it's faded to black, and you're on a PC, right-click on it and select "play."

Comments are appreciated. Including negative ones. Especially negative ones, if they're a useful type of negative.

(Um... one thing I've already noticed... the pullout on the tower towards the end [sc. 14] should be more in perspective.)

Rock on, that was awesome! Other than the whole dying thing at the end ... Still. Loved the facial expressions while he worked.

Sweet, delicious storyboards brought to life. Some of the movements were unclear at first but after a second watch it was apparent that the layout of the scene is quite strong. Mmm, clouds.

Whoa! I think that's going to give me nightmares (I have a serious fear of falling).

But WOW. My jaw dropped about 10 seconds into it. Amazing job. And I really loved the clasp, you did a great job with that.

As mentioned by everybody: AMAZING 2nd animated piece after Joe from Sunset B.
I'm no great shakes at animation, but felt that more could be added to the element of terror at the end.
Makes me want to pick up Terry Pratchett

. . .

When the black screen came up, I actually stopped to gape. Seriously. Chills went up my spine.

That was bloody amazing.

(My only question is: would he really be that big against the shutter/panels? Just out of curiousity; not a nitpick or anything.)

WOW.

Well... I looked at it like this: the shutters have to be big to be seen from eight miles away. Make them too big, however, and they'll be too heavy and/or catch the wind too much (even if they were slatted), which would put a lot of strain on the tower, even if it was built like a tree. So I just made them a size that meant his feet could touch the bottom and his hand could be on a rail, with one rail in between.

This is all subject to change if anyone brings to my attention an officially sanctioned clacks tower design... but so far that seems unlikely to happen.

wow

That's really cool! I thought the part when the black thing flutters past was especially well done.

You know what, I've been thinking about it, and you're right – the shutter array should be a bit bigger. Can't make it too much bigger or it'll mess up some of the staging, but ... thanks!

Oooh! That was incredible! My favorite part in the whole thing is where he leans back to look over the side. It just ... it's awesome. I'm a little confused as to why he falls, though. Does the Black Swish just scare the kapooka out of him and he looses his grip, or do the shutters close and there's nothing for him to grip onto ...? This board has made my otherwise dull and tedious day into one big happy .. thing.

That's awesome! You should do more of these, you're great at it!

Just to let you know, I'm a fan of your art, especially your Lemony Snicket fanart. Your style is so professional-looking and everything. I just recently got a Livejournal account, so I figured I'd pop in and say something.

Keep it up! You're awesome! :)
