Awesome!! Although I told my sister I would see it with her first and I'm going to be out of town starting tomorrow evening. Soooo, I'm going to have to wait a week before I can see it. *cries*

Just read a review . . . 4.5 stars (Which is interesting considering a Galaxy is involved).

"Mostly Harmless" sent me into a massive post-series depression. I find that humor fanfiction is often a good remedy for post-series depression, but in the case of Douglas Adams, there's none that can do justice. So phooey.
Bought me a nerdy "42" T-shirt yesterday, so I'm all set for the movie! (Provided it doesn't bomb...)

Some series end with a cathartic climax, conclusive denouement, and character arc payoffs, which can leave one with a sense of satisfaction even if the events are depressing.

Mostly Harmless, on the other hand ... is just ... depressing.

I am looking forward particularly to the dolphins' musical number.

I have heard tell of said musical number, and have been informed that it's amusing... on the other hand, have also heard that most of Adams's jokes have been relentlessly mangled... am currently debating whether to bring a bowl of petunias to throw at the screen in the event of a debacle...

Yeah... I agree. I think if you're gonna read Douglas Adams, you should stop after "Life, the Universe and Everything". I loved the third book, but the fourth and fifth were just... I don't know. I wouldn't reccomend them. They depressed me.

Not sure how the movie's gonna be, since I already love the way the BBC did it. I'm kind of an old-school Douglas Adams purist... despite my just having ragged on the fourth and fifth books.

I'm a fan of your HP art. I was wonder if I could use this http://www.nocturnalsoldier.org/Tealin/grindylow.jpg as part of the cover for a book concept/drawing (Creatures of Dark Origins)? It'll be for a sort of HP rpg community. I'll give credit of course.

I completely agree that "Mostly Harmless" is depressing. I'm reading the series before I see the movie and am cruising through all the books. I finished "Mostly Harmless" about an hour ago and was wondering myself if anyone else had ever noticed the sad feeling it left me with.

What's more depressing is that DNA was actually planning yet another sequel to h2g2 because he, too, felt MH was too depressing.
And we all know what happened. :x
