Drawing Bill
Jan. 2nd, 2017 12:42 pmDr. Edward Adrian 'Bill' Wilson is, in my humble estimation, the most wonderful person ever to have lived; he is, for certain, my one great hero, and needless to mention my favourite person on the Terra Nova Expedition.*
It should not have been as surprising as it was, that I should have had a bit of a block when I came to draw up his preliminary design treatment – which I chose to do at the time because I needed cheering up from the US election and a bit of household drama and then falling ill. No pressure at all there! Also a lack of sleep and slight oxygen deprivation thanks to the cold, which went on and on ...
Anyway, it took me the better part of six weeks to get anything worth scanning. I finally hit on something the week before Christmas:

I tried to work that design up into some more official-looking model sheets, but I'm not sure I like them as much:

They look fine on paper, and then I scan them and magically all the faults come to the surface! How ...?
At least I got some decent thumbnails to work into proper poses when I get my groove back:

Next on the list is Deb – I've tried him out before but he needs a proper systematic approach – and then maybe Gran; I'll come back to Bill and see if I've shaken off any of my intimidation.
*The others wouldn't mind me saying this; he was all their favourite, too.
