Feb. 12th, 2018 08:26 pmI used to take this test every year ... I don't know how long it's been since I did it, but was curious how things might have changed since I moved to the UK, and as I've been MBTI-ing the 1911 Shore Party it seemed only fair to turn it on myself. If it was ever scientific, it can't be entirely so now, as they've reformatted it in a way that might subconsciously push your answer in a slightly different direction than the previous format, and I'm pretty sure there were 72 questions before. But it's as close as I'll get to consistency, so with a substantial margin or error in mind:
INTJ
Introvert(78%) iNtuitive(53%) Thinking(62%) Judging(66%)
You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (78%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (53%)
You have distinct preference of Thinking over Feeling (62%)
You have distinct preference of Judging over Perceiving (66%)
Turns out I'm no longer 100% introverted! Heavens to Betsy! Still quite definitively up the INTJ rabbit hole, but possibly moving slightly into the more healthy central cloud ...

Date: 2018-02-13 01:31 am (UTC)INTJ
Introvert(44%) iNtuitive(22%) Thinking(38%) Judging(3%)
You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (44%)
You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (22%)
You have moderate preference of Thinking over Feeling (38%)
You have marginal or no preference of Judging over Perceiving (3%)
Given that I've been feelign extra hermit-y lately, I'm not surprised at the swing towards Introversion (I'm usually an INTJ, but usually without a great deal of preference in anything but Thinking -- the others are usually very small preferences)

Introvert(12%) iNtuitive(9%) Feeling(25%) Judging(3%)
You have slight preference of Introversion over Extraversion (12%)
You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (9%)
You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (25%)
You have marginal or no preference of Judging over Perceiving (3%)
One of the things I don't like about this test is that it treats thinking like it's the opposite of feeling. I think it's very possible to be reasonable and analytical while still being aware of/honoring your emotions.

Date: 2018-02-13 08:12 pm (UTC)Being in a friendly environment where people (generally) aren't jackasses makes a difference in how one interacts with the world :)
FWIW MBTI-style tests always clearly score me as IN, but tend to disagree on the last 2 letters ...

Date: 2018-02-14 09:22 am (UTC)I think the provocative and vague natures of some of the questions is deliberate ... psychologists are sneaky that way. If my memory can be trusted, the slightly longer version of the test had a few questions that were near duplicates, but asking them twice in slightly different ways might winnow away at the subtleties of a person's mindset.
INFJs are supposed to be one of the rarest types, but I seem to have a large number of them in my circle – either the test is somehow stacked in that direction, or I'm just lucky, I don't know!
