The resurrection of this was also called for. (teeheehee)

They'd better not start shooting before I get down to San Diego – if the Rose isn't there, I am going to be right pished.

Oh, God... It must be the Trafalgar fever :P I heard long time ago that Russell Crowe had signed for a sequel called "Post-Captain" , but that was a rumor of 2003-2004, so I hope this time is a true fact. Besides, Peter Weir said in the DVD that he would do a sequel.
God bless Mr. Boyd's big mouth :)

Oh, please no, let them NOT make Post Captain into a movie ... for one thing, it's a pre(x8)-prequel, but my main objection is that 90% of the book is spent in lovesick mooning and financial misery at the house of Sophie (who would eventually become Jack's wife) ... As I have told Ubiquitouspitt, the book ought to have been titled Moping at Mapes, but nobody would have bought it. I don't know if I could bear watching two hours of Aubrey and Maturin lolling around feeling sorry for themselves.

Of course not :P The title was a rumor, and what I think they would do is just to use the name, like the actual movie, that has the name of the first AND the 10th book . And I beg , don't put the Diana-Sophie story inside. ( I haven't read much of the series yet, in fact, I started because I saw your pictures and felt curious, but the only thing I would surely put inside the movie would be 1_Stephen and his bees obsession or 2_Jack in a bear suit... I know it would be difficult, but so hilarious)
And yes, Moping at Mapes would have suited better...
*OH! and The Valentines strike back!!! Woohoo!

The movie actually has elements of both the first and tenth books... the chase and the Pacific and the core elements of the story are from The Far Side of the World, but the decoy (Calamy's first command) and the 'nautical phasmid' are both from Master and Commander. So is the dinnertime discussion of Nelson. And some other things I'm sure I don't remember.

Heehee, the bees and the bearsuit are by far the best parts of the book... maybe they could combine them. 'Oh no, Jack, that's the bear suit where I was keeping my bees!'
