Day 32 of my Lent project. For background, please read this.
A reading from the Gospel according to the GOP:
Luke 9:57-62
As they were going along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." But Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God." Another said, "I will follow you Lord; but first let me say goodbye to those at my home." Jesus said to him, "No one who puts a hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."
A reading from the Gospel according to the GOP:
As they were going along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." And Jesus said to him, "You have chosen wisely, for those who follow me will be richly rewarded." To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." Jesus said to him, "It is right for you to do this, for the law says to honour your mother and father, and this is the last and greatest honour you can pay him. Come to me when you have done this." Another said, "I will follow you Lord; but first let me say goodbye to those at my home." Jesus said to him, "Yes, go and pay your respects, and leave with the blessing of your people; or better yet, bring them with you. I will wait for you here."
