July 16th, Part 2

What, Again? - After our feet got sore and we reached Cool Movie Stuff Overload at ComiCon, we decided to make a last-minute adjustment to our plans.
Almost Fictionally Cool - Going back during busier hours meant that there were ... costumed interpreters. Oh, the amusement.
Nautical Stuff - She's so pretty.
The Berkeley - My mom managed to tear my sister and I away from the ship and the jolly sing-song, up to the upper deck of the Berkeley, the passenger boat which houses the gift shop. It was pretty as well, in a different way.
Quarterdeck - ... and it had a lovely view of the main attraction from one of the windows.
Stern - Like all movie stars, the Surprise has a gorgeous derriere.

Okay, whose great idea was it to let me have a DVD player with screen capture?

I'm so mean. You'd hardly think I have a lot of sympathy for the poor guy.

*giggles* Oh, Tea...

I'm so jealous of you... My only consolation is that I'm going to Nova Scotia soon, so I'll be visiting the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax. Not quite as cool as seeing the Surprise, but it's better than hanging around in land-locked Pennsylvania.

The Surprise was built in Halifax. Back then it was called the Rose. So ... that's a connection, yes? It probably used to be there, or something...

...and therefore I shall squee madly...

Ahem. The Rose to Surprise transformation I was aware of, but I bow to your knowledge of the ship's history.

I'm sure the museum will be cashing in on that fact, so that's good.

Haha, only because the CBC cashed in on the Canadian connection. : )

I'm sure they'll at least have ... photos. And maybe the blueprints?

I envy you. I would very much like to visit Nova Scotia.

So would I. Finally I could convince my parents to take me because I need to *cough* visit a college. Really, it's all about college. It has nothing to do with maritime museums or Scottish heritage at all, I swear.

you are obsessed... Almost to border on the pledge of, "I'll marry him when I grow up!" XD

Would I never guess?

Oh! I love costumed interpreters! I get so much action whenever I go to the Tryon Palace Christmas Candlelit.

I shall cease typing before my computer overheats from the radioactive waves of pure envy my body is surely emanating. How exciting!

Oh, oh, oh - you can see Stephen's bench... Stephen's bench... (thingamajig - sad that I was once a sailor and I don't even know what that thing is called. My ship didn't have one anyway; it had an a-frame).

So, are they referring to it officially as the Surprise now or is it still the Rose?

Agh! That guy is aiming something in the last shot! Hide the doctor!

*taps foot*

(When do you plan on updating 'the site' my sweet?)

You knew someone one the tour boat? Or – HAHA! I get it now. I think.

Yes, they rechristened it the Surprise, but it still has the Rose bell.
