Last night I felt like I could have stayed up all night sketching, but alas, it was a work night...

This is how I had meant to draw Enjolras, that first time, before all that Kane McCain business and Makani chin study. The pose, I mean. And the scene. I couldn't have drawn him without the chin study.

Poor rash Enjolras... no one's going to come join his little revolution.
Enjolras: "Oh crap."

And for Gabby and other kindred spirits ... an un-manly man. The Combeferre in the cast I saw became the inspiration of my design for the character who became Rufus Scrimgeour, so now I'm trying to remember what he originally looked like. This one... meh. But I liked the drawing.

Mr. Glasses!? HAH!

Weeell, he's not that unmanly. But it'll do. *pets* I love his expression and that little tiny bit of stray hair on his forehead. (*is growing more infatuated by the moment*)

Hee. I have this hilarious image of Enjolras trying to rouse an apathetic crowd to revolution and failing stuck in my head, and I love it.

And then frustrated and emotionally repressed butchers and bakers and candlestick makers who can't see over the crowd start yelling about who's holding up the dadgum traffic, and exasperated mothers with loads of young children tsking and moving away, and street urchins throwing rocks and sticks at a lonely Enjolras standing dejectedly in the middle of a rapidly disappearing crowd.

IT'S DELICIOUS.

Ah, but see, it's tee-ALLEN, so yes it does.

You, my dear, have been reading too much Pratchett. (It's delicious!) : )

Whoa, seriously!? And to think this entire time I had assumed (assumpt!? haha) it was 'teal-in'. I mean, it looking like that and being spelled like that and all.*

. . . yes, probably. It's all gone to my head. :(

* DARN YOU, ENGLISH LANGUAGE! DARN YOU TO CANADA! **

** I'm going to die for that, aren't I.

No, you're not going to die. (Well, I mean, besides the inevitable eventuality, of course...) It's just an idiosyncrasy of pronunciation.

(Death: I GET EVERYWHERE.)

Pah, pronunciation. I've never held any truck with it. (Or is that 'for it'? Sheesh, you'd think I'd be better at English, having lived in a predominantly English-speaking country only my whole life.) It makes me angry because I can never seem to grasp it. *tear*

(On the ** I was referring to the Canada bit, but if you didn't see it that way that's okay! :D Death is not imminent so I'm not complaining about anything.)

Oh yes, I know what it was in reference to, but Canadian pronunciation is just as arbitrary as it is in the rest of the English-speaking world.

And that's the thing about death ... you never know...

Oh. 'Kay! Er.

I'm just going to leave it at English can be really dumb. :*[ (<- I made a tear!)

That's very true. At any moment in time the whole of Yellowstone National Park could suddenly explode, effectively wiping out the States and wreaking havoc with the rest of the world in general. (Hooray for books that describe in explicit detail how crazy the planet Earth really is, also how close to death we all are at any given moment!)

I think I've read it...

A Short History of Nearly Everything? (Bill Bryson)

It was kind of scary the way he just kept saying what could potentially destroy humanity, and how it happens every so many years, and how we're overdue for it to happen again...

:D Hey, why yes indeed!

I'm loving it so far, but the OMINOUS PORTENTS OF DOOOOOOOM can be a bit upsetting.

I really liked it. There was one of those little yellow squares that's all sticky along one side stuck in the one I borrowed from the library, pointing out that Bill had made a mistake somewhere (indirectly said something was faster than light I think). So that was amusing.

Poor Enjolras. I like his jacket. In the production of Les Mis I saw, both Enjolras and Javert were played by impressive black men, so that's the image I shall forever have of them.

I named one of my dragons Enjolras. He is red and black.

*sigh* I love Enjolras. You draw him so well. The production I saw had the most handsome guy I've ever seen play enjolras, and it was so great. He had dark hair and really pointy sideburns. Trying to draw them drives me crazy..

But did I mention I adore the expression he's wearing? you're amazing.
