A General Shout
Aug. 30th, 2005 02:49 pmTo everyone who has emailed me in the last month or will do so in the next week:
I AM REALLY BUSY. For once, this is not to do with work (well, not entirely). My friend is getting married this weekend and I'm a bridesmaid so I have to help with all the preparations and there are a lot. When I'm not at work or in transit I am either working on wedding stuff or wiped out and not wanting to do anything that requires active thought. I hope things settle down after they move away and I'll be able to catch up on email, updates, and other stuff ... until then, please grant me a little leeway in reply time.
Thank you...

Date: 2005-08-31 01:55 am (UTC)Also, please please please make sure that noone at the reception tries to make "honeymoon night" jokes. Those make me want to puke. And even though I won't be there to witness their tackiness, I will sense the terrible disturbance in the force.

Date: 2005-08-31 05:31 am (UTC)On the other hand, this is exactly the sort of crowd who will be making 'honeymoon night' jokes the whole weekend long – one half of the wedding party are the people whose crass company I find hard to tolerate for one evening when they're sober and with no obvious context for tasteless humour, so it will be ... interesting. And I will be stuck at the head table so I won't be able to duck into Sketchbook Land, alas.
But it's a lovely location. It's got trees and everything. And interesting moths. And stars, if it's clear. I really have been complaining far too much.
Have fun!

Date: 2005-08-31 07:03 am (UTC)Come to that, it's pretty weird just to think on it myself.
THERE ARE WAY BETTER ARTISTS OUT THERE! SHOO!

Date: 2005-08-31 02:25 am (UTC)Of course, that could also just be my dad talking (he told me that he doesn't want to pay/deal with a big wedding and will pay me like 10,000 dollars if I elope xD)

Date: 2005-08-31 05:19 am (UTC)Small weddings all the way, man. This is the third big wedding I have been involved with in four years, and in the extremely unlikely situation I ever get married, there will be twenty guests tops. And maybe a handful of decorations, if any. Guh.

Date: 2005-08-31 03:49 pm (UTC)I would love a small wedding (and to quote you: in the unlikely event--i can't even imagine that happening to me!) but I would kind of like a party afterwards, just so everyone could dance. I love dancing, do you?

Date: 2005-08-31 10:59 am (UTC)I was a bridesmaid when my aunt got married. The weird thing is that my aunt got married to my best friend's dad, so now my best friend is now also my cousin! Weird, huh? Anyway, have fun!

Date: 2005-08-31 03:53 pm (UTC)Luckily I'm not made maid of honour, though she claims we're best friends. That job went to two bester friends, who are both fretting. Boy am I glad to be off the hook.
Good Luck!
