I've received a number of emails this morning telling me that my pictures hosted with Photobucket don't show up because I'm exceeding bandwidth. This comes as a bit of a surprise because Photobucket supposedly just doubled its storage and bandwidth allowances, not too long ago I was only at half capacity in either one, and my site hasn't had a great spike in traffic recently.

Anyway, I'm far too busy to deal with this right now, but when I get a moment I'll move the pictures linked on my site from Photobucket to a more permanent server somewhere. In the meantime, don't hold your breath, eat your vegetables, and take this opportunity to look at some other people's art!

Update on the Library/eBay race:
My payment has cleared unexpectedly early! eBay pulls ahead! Meanwhile, I've moved up two spots on the library's waitlist to #19.

Which is the first of the watch books? Just in case I ever get through my mountain of school books and can read for leisure again.

And I did eat my vegetables today. Wok = yum!

Guards! Guards! is the first in the Watch books, but you can read Men at Arms, Feet of Clay, or Jingo without any fear of being lost at all. It's just Night Watch, really... and maybe Thud.

I was in a new bookstore that opened today, and they had paperback editions of almost all the Pratchett books. To a finicially challenged long term-student who lives in a country where books are so expensive it should be illegal, English paperbacks are heaven!

OK, funny anecdote. I've seen paperback editions of the books in another shop in town, they all had covers by Josh Kirby. So I looked at them and thought to myself; "Nah, can't be the artist she says is so good. But it does say Kidby right? Hmmm, looks more like "Kirby". Why is she so impressed by this??" So today I saw books with the real Kidby's covers, and yeah... I know now what you were talking about.

*shudders* I hate those scatty covers, they're so weirdly offputting. The one for the Colour of Magic is just bizarre. I think they're half the reason I never read any for ages... They've got new covers for the old books too. Black with meaningful photographs on them and plain writing. Better than the scatty, not so good as Kidby, heh.

I really like those new covers from Corgi ... they're subtle and sophisticated and not doughy lumps of writhing flesh, which is what Josh Kirby's artwork always looked like to me.
