Don't everybody rush in at once, we don't want to crash the site:

Stephen Fry Interviews J.K. Rowling! And vice versa!

You need RealPlayer. It'll work for one week only! That's until next Saturday, December 17, at 9:00 GMT. It'll play again on Christmas Eve if you miss it.

Just listened.

I swear, Stephen Fry is one of the greatest people in the BBC. He was voted the cleverest person on TV earlier this year. Ever watched QI?

I think he could be a contender from cleverest person probably ever.

He's the quizmaster on a very funny quiz show called QI. Nobody playing it really takes it seriously.

Seems to me no one takes any panel games on the BBC very seriously... or it could be I only listen to the funny ones. ;)

This one's on TV. Another good one is Have I Got News For You. Last week they pointed out a rather amusing mistake on some daytime TV show.

"'And after the break we will be interviewing Gordon Brown...' *shows a clip of King Kong rampaging through NYC* 'Um, I think that might be the wrong clip...'"

I kno everyone says this but he has the most amazing voice. It's funny but everytime he speaks it sounds like he has prepared an answer beforehand, no matter what the question. I once heard him say that he had been asked to join mensa but that it bored him. :)

LOL, I'm so with you. I'm to lazy to download it, I'm reading the transcript on MuggleNet.

Oh, you should totally listen to it (it's streaming, not loading, so it starts after a few seconds) and you get so much more out of it, with the actual voices.

YES YES YES! I think the first time I ever saw him on TV (or at least knew it was him) he was playing a bumbling professor in Gormenghast (my introduction to many fine British actors) so it was funny to hear him say that's the type of character he likes playing.

Tonks with a Northern accent?! Now I must hear it fully!

Oddly, before I heard Stephen Fry doing Hagrid I imagined him to be Cockney. He still is, in the quiet of my head.

Oddly enough, I pictured (or ... sounded?) him with a West Country accent before I even knew what a West Country accent was ... must have been all those Redwall books, in which it's impeccably phoeneticized.
