Happy New Year!
Jan. 1st, 2006 04:40 pmAll righty, time for some presents from the Seasonal Gift Bag, freshly drawn to fill up my sketchbook!
If I might make a feeble appeal for bandwidth mercy, I beg that if you plan on looking at the pictures over and over again, please save them onto your computer or something ... I'm fairly confident this post will cause a sudden blast of traffic and I am afraid.
Page 1 - professor_spork's 'Furry Little Problem,' Hermione at the Yule Ball and Draco speechless, and tannhaeuser's drunk lion (though he's not quite atomically correct* and is a bit more of an afficionado than a drunkard).
Page 2 - breezy85's fairy and fairy prince in 'awesome outfits' (as best as my mediocre costume design skills will allow), Ron being attacked by an evil brain for buymelove (influenced, as was my vision of that part of the book, by the cheesy sci-fi movie in Iron Giant), itsbeenvery's Chef Voldemort, and chibipengwin's Fred and George flying off into the sunset ... you'll have to take my word for it that they are in fact the twins.
Page 3 - A planet, for whoever requested something extraterrestrial, Drumknott for agentgray, Ron getting hit with a Quaffle and a canary for fordanglia and whoever requested the canary thing, and the Trio as bank robbers.
Page 4 - Lupin and Tonks (for all those who wanted them) eating cake (for moonythoughts), Arthur Weasley with his Christmas presents at St Mungo's (absolutely NO guarantee of canon – I just thought it was appropriate), and Aunt Petunia after Dumbledore's howler for anathelen.
Page 5 - The legitimate Triwizard champions for paddita and whoever wanted them revamped, another doodle at Vorbis I did for myself, and a combination of gabbysun, georgemydear, and Anonymous's requests, featuring a ninja fighting a kitten dressed as a pirate, on unicorns, one of which has its horn stuck in a tree.
Page 6 - octaveleap's Ent, little nimue's red panda, a rather disappointing attempt at Lady Sybil (sorry fryingpanofdoom and siria_eva_black), Galinda saying '–lar' for whoever wanted something from 'Popular,' and Sgt Jackrum for eveforward and the other person who wanted to see him (sorry, I forget...).
More tomorrow! Or soon, anyway.
*Anatomically correct ... but the typo was amusing enough to leave in. ;)

Date: 2006-01-02 01:13 am (UTC)Okay, that's amazing. I think the best part is the odd resemblance between the evilbunny!Lupin and Rabbit, from Winnie the Pooh. The next step, of course, would be Tigger!Sirius, Piglet!Peter and Pooh!James.
Harry can be Christopher Robin. Voldemort can be a Huffalump or Woozle.
I envy your mad skill!

Would I be able to make the Fred and George into an LJ icon, with credit to you?

Date: 2006-01-02 02:16 am (UTC)Would you be interested in doing an art trade at some point? I do a webcomic called Crikey Duck (www.crikeyduck.com) and I'd love to see how you'd draw the three leads. :)

Date: 2006-01-02 03:33 am (UTC)Also...um, I'm trying to make a valiant attempt at improving my drawing skills, and I was wondering if it was okay that I study your art to sort of help me along. I really want to study your noses and face-shapes in particular (I love your style more than anyone's in the world!)
Anyways, keep up the great work. I check your lj just about every day waiting for new art, and it just brightens up my week whenever you have something new (Harry Potter especially :)
Well, cheers, hope you had a wonderful New Years!

Date: 2006-01-02 05:49 am (UTC)The trio as bank robbers...*hugs* I especially love how happy Harry looks. He is SO loving the criminal business. Such a tiny sketch...and yet, too perfect. I'm licking my lips just looking at it. Thank you so much for this. I will now go away and covet it in private.
