Taking things literally can the the source of great amusement.
That barometer hangs on my wall, by the way. And the compass rose on the top rotates on a floating compass contained in the little metal ball beneath it, see. Always thinking.
Please forgive me for any factual errors. I never got to see the back of the French captain's costume, and have no clue how the rigging is supposed to look from that spot on the quarterdeck.

How I adore your Jack. He is drawn in such a way.. that makes me love him... he's always looking so slighted. I shall refer to your style of Jack henceforth as 'the bear suit' Jack.
