Bla bla bla
Feb. 23rd, 2006 07:53 pmIt's been a while since I updated, and I know how much the whole world hangs on my every word,* so just to prove I am, in fact, still alive, here is a humourous picture I took almost a year ago:

This is proof that there must be a God, because random fluctuations in the space-time continuum can't have that daft a sense of humour.
Okay, I'm disappearing again.
*Mostly to see if I will ever utter the words 'Harry' and 'Potter' in the same sentence again – gasp! Look at that!

Date: 2006-02-24 04:33 am (UTC)in all seriousness, though, I've enjoyed all of your artwork irregardless of it's relation to Harry Potter - *that* was the original draw, now I'm here for the art itself. Fanboy, y'know.
Moreover, you've introduced me (and probably many others) to Terry Pratchett and other relative unknowns through your art... now I look at people who've never heard of Pterry and shake my head in a mixture of pity and contempt, thinking, "My God, I used to be thusly deprived." Thanks for that.
~DarthDylanBlue, because I'm incapable of logging in yet again...

Date: 2006-02-24 05:04 am (UTC)I am flattered that your admiration for my drawings has transcended Potter boundaries! Now I have to get them to a calibre deserving of such accolades...
I share your feelings towards the poor unfortunate Pratchett-deprived – hence my spreading of the good news by the only means I know how. You can have well-developed characters and a well-structured plot in the same book! It can be entertaining and profound at the same time! Cast off the shackles of literary snobbery and laugh – laugh – at footnotes! Rejoice!

Date: 2006-02-24 05:25 pm (UTC)Regardless, it sounds like quite a few people have been introduced to Pratchett by you. Well done.

Date: 2006-02-24 04:53 am (UTC)I think I just made a sort of "woooooah" noise like a very quiet foghorn.
And hey, I MAY be highly interested in the words "Harry" and "Potter" but it doesn't mean everything else you have to say/show isn't interesting too. Like this picture for instance. I'm making the "woooooah" noise again, right now.
Woooooooooah.

Date: 2006-02-24 10:30 am (UTC)And admittedly, it was the Potter art that first drew me, but now it's because you say things worth listening to - or reading, as the case may be - and draw good pictures that have nothing to do with Potter.
This has been Azvolrien.

hi
Date: 2006-02-24 05:08 pm (UTC)I've been following your art and livejournal for some time (I even emailed you a loooong time ago), but it's the first time I post. Ever since you started mentioning all these Pratchet books you read you've made me really curious and now thanks to you I'll have to buy them. Could you recommend me one or tell me which is the first one or something?
BTW can I add you to my friends list?
Re: hi
Date: 2006-02-24 06:18 pm (UTC)Try Small Gods, Monstrous Regiment, Thief of Time or Sourcery to start. :)
Re: hi
Date: 2006-02-24 06:22 pm (UTC)Although Sourcery's cool, too.

Date: 2006-02-24 06:22 pm (UTC)The only ones you really shouldn't start with are Night Watch and Thud! – the 'first' ones are okay but definitely don't give a good representation of the rest of the series.
