Today's Subject Is Not The Day of the Week

FRIDAY'S SKETCHBOOK
Page One - A couple attempts at Angua (I get her better when I start with her eyes, which would make her very hard to pose out in a scene), a couple doodles demonstrating that I know almost as much about wolf anatomy as horse, and a bus person.
Page Two - Random bus people, including a young man who I surreptitiously tried to sketch, because he looked like Tonker is trying to, but I was afraid that if he saw me sketching him he'd beat me up. The sketch turned out looking nothing like him, alas. Oh yes, and Perdita X. Dream, after her radical weight loss therapy.
Page Three - Studies from 'Rabbit Seasoning' now that I've got it back from my sister. Perhaps I shall go ahead with the gag sketch today. (MWAHAHAHAHA!!)
Page Four - Ditto.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I need an excuse to spend a lot of time on the computer tomorrow so I might update my wesbite. Nothing you won't have seen here, but it's got to be done eventually...

YEAH...only 57! That'll give me at least a decade of wedded bliss (with all that exercise and clean, mountain air) before they have to push me around in my knobby-tired wheelchair! Beggars can't be choosers! :)

I really did appreciate the kind thoughts on my behalf (I half-expected to be chewed out for inappropriateness for my original comment!), even if I can't actually do anything about it...then again, I've seen some pretty amazing devices advertized on the internet...!(thinks of Napoleon Dynamite :) )

Hey there.
I have not seen Napoleon Dynamite yet so I cannot respond on that, but I did not think your comment was inappropriate. I think my sister would have appreciated it, too. I think most women enjoy being admired in a nice and respectful way. My sister is very happily married, but I am sure she would appreciate it that people find her lifestyle admirable. She has a great husband but both she and he often face flack from society about their views on protecting the environment and that she has become a stay at home mom in a part of America where women are expected to be both Supermom and the super career executive. I think it was the right choice because she is raising some great kids and also has time to spend with her husband and daughters in environmental conservation activities and also just enjoying the nature in Missouri, our home state.
It is always nice other people like you value and appreciate their values. I am proud of my sister and I like that other people see how great she is, too.

Well said! And I think you might enjoy NP - I sure did! Especially if you (or anybody you know) grew up in a small, midwestern town that time forgot.

Thanks for the ND recomendation. Maybe I will check it out. Anyway, it takes place in Idaho, one of those U.S. states (besides Utah) that seems really cool to me. In some ways N.D. reminds me of a wonderful, fantastic Icelandic movie called "Nóí Albíni" (Noah the Albino) that deals with the similar topic of a young guy in a stunningly beautiful area of Iceland that is isolated and how he tries to overcome the physical geography of the area where he lives (the Westfjords, I believe) to link up with what he thinks is "the real world" in Iceland. It is a great movie.

I've actually heard about this (sounds like it may be a bit deeper than NP!) - sounds cool! I'll try to track it down.
