Sredni Vashtar
Oct. 4th, 2011 08:27 pmI was going to work through lunch today, but then I listened to Sredni Vashtar and couldn't do any more work until I'd drawn this.

I remember listening to this short story the last time it was on and being struck by it. There's something so impishly compelling about it; I think it's mostly down to the idea of a cloistered Edwardian schoolboy spontaneously engaging in such heathen idolatry, but it's got such a ... flavour. I think Saki might have been named as one of Lemony Snicket's influences, which may explain some things.
