All right, listen up, Americans*:
He's the one who's not that cranky doctor from the show with the cranky doctor in it. (Thank you, Tony!)
The remainder of that scene is at the beginning of this clip:
This one's a bit loud, you might want to turn down the volume... (but it comes with bonus John Sessions!)
He even narrates well-animated children's shows:
*By which I mean residents of the Americas, that is, land masses in the Western Hemisphere.

Date: 2007-11-17 10:06 pm (UTC)Seriously, his Twinings adverts almost make me want to -buy- tea. And as a side note, I blame you totally for the impulse buy of two Sherlock Holmes collections today. I hadn't read anything until you posted your drawing of Holmes and Moriaty (er...don't quote me on that spelling..), and now I've finished study in scarlet, sign of the four and shall hopefully be starting....well something soon.
*does the Stephen Fry dance*

But then, I guess so has Stephen Fry.

I've loved Stephen for a few years now, and he continues to amaze and delight me (and how Fryish I now sound to myself...). IMO, his audiobooks of Harry Potter are better than Jim Dale's. And I've always liked Fry better than Laurie - sorry Hugh! ;) (And sorry, House-obsessed friend of mine...)

Date: 2007-11-18 02:56 am (UTC)Um, I already knew who Stephen Fry was.
My first exposure to him was the British Harry Potter Audio Books. Well, my first exposure to him where I knew what his name was, anyway. I'd forgotten about Jeeves, to tell you the truth.
He also narrated the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" Movie that they made a few years back. I spent the first half hour trying to figure out where I'd heard his voice before. :-D

Date: 2007-11-18 03:44 am (UTC)I had to look up the cast for Gormenghast after that clip because I didn't remember him being in it, and did you know that Irma Prunesquallor is Aunt Petunia? (you probably did, but ... its weird to think about ..)

Date: 2007-11-18 04:32 pm (UTC)I'm not alone!
It's so annoying when I talk about Stephen Fry and NO BODY KNOWS WHO HE IS!!!
and then I list things that he's in...and they've never heard of those either.
it's very sad
woot Stephen Fry!

Date: 2007-12-16 10:51 pm (UTC)I found out about him through that cranky doctor show too...but after seeing him with Hugh Laurie, I was completely hooked. I loved Jeeves and Wooster so much!

Date: 2008-05-02 11:48 pm (UTC)If you are interested I will attempt to find the title. Although, you may already know this, and I may just have wasted a moment of your time!
I have been a fan of your work for a good (*thinks* I believe five?) years now. You got me into Pratchett's Johnny Maxwell Trilogy (I had already read a few Discworld novels) and your talent has inspired me to draw more often than I used to. You're very much a role model to me and I thank you for it!
