First publicly released image from the New and Improved Rapunzel:

CLICK FOR TO MAKE BIGGAR!

This is a piece of concept art by Andy Harkness, not a final still from the movie, though of course they're going to try to make it look like that. There seems to be some confusion: Rapunzel is not going to be 2D. It is a 3D film. A very nice 3D film, but it is 3D, not 2D. No matter how much some people may plead and moan, the directors want it 3D and they're the ones in charge.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] floramir for pointing this out, and to [livejournal.com profile] aspectabund for posting the BIG one (and some little ones wot you can see in the comments)! Also to Yahoo Movies and the AP for distributing it. Booo to Aint-it-Cool for being slooooow. :P

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. AAAAAAAAAAAH.

OMG, neato!

Haha, I love how those bottom ones are obviously taken over his shoulder in a publicity shot... :D

Hah, I know eh? But hey... we could pretend we're looking over GLEN KEANE'S shoulder, amiright? 8D

Oh, I'm certain that's Glen Keane's shoulder... it's just ... his shoulder, in a picture which is probably supposed to be all about his face. :)

BTW, I'm pretty sure someone else actually drew the tower pic, but we won't spoil their fun. I guess if he's directing it's still kind of his art anyway...

It is Glen Kleane, I've seen the whole picture. But most people are more interested in what's behind him XD

You know what interests me most about the tower pic? It looks digitally done in the close up of the guy. I dunno, I'm probably too used to my Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, and Prince of Egypt "The Art of" books, where the concept art's all acrylic or oil or watercolour or goauche. XD

Yeah, it's all digital. Nobody uses paints anymore. Everyone is in love with Ctrl+Z. :)
