All right, Internet, I'm going away for a few days to recharge my homesickness, eat some real food, watch water fall from the sky, and remember what green looks like. With any luck I won't have forgotten how to animate by the time I get back, and might even have a couple drawings to post. Ta!

P.S. If you feel like acquiring some lovely art and helping out a friend of mine, go commission something from Salamandersoup! I'm sure she will finish her commissions much faster than I did.

Heheh, I meant 'food that isn't chock full of preservatives and who knows what' or 'food at a restaurant that doesn't taste like it's made from a kit.' But I would Love to trade recipes! I don't know if I have any that are worth trading but it's worth a shot, I guess...

It's amazing how much of a difference tiny bits of cold cuts like turkey and a tiny bit of canned corn/tiny bunch of spinach can make a cup noodle taste better. If you have communal fridge there, bring a bit o cold cuts and MAKE SURE the guys don't steal them.

Food that is ... not full of crap? Meat that tastes right? Doughnuts that don't taste like vaseline? Seriously, between the preservatives and the artificial flavourings and whatnot, American food is just weird. Not that Canadian food is absolutely pristine, but at least it doesn't taste like medicine and chemicals.

I agree to an extent. But believe me, it is possible to obtain non-plasticky tasting American food that doesn't taste weird or isn't loaded with preservatives. Just eschew anything that comes in plastic packages. I cannot help with meat, because I'm a vegetarian, and I was under the impression that Doughnuts were meant to taste like vaseline. I don't like them. But other than that, you find less unnatural gunk in things that do not come shrink wrapped.

I stopped eating a long time ago...

If you do want to eat, however you have to shop at Whole Foods or Trader Joe, or just look for stuff that hasn't got high fructose corn syrup in it. That's what really tastes like chemicals in almost everything you eat. Since I've stopped eating it, I've found that I can't eat it now without getting sick; it's poisonous when you haven't built up immunity...

YOU

While you are gone I will be spamming (SPAMMING) your past posts with ridiculous and unnecessary comments and you will return to an inbox teeming with notifications and you will be bewildered, dismayed, and (hopefully) will feel a little appreciated and adored. (Note: none of them will require response; I feel kind of guilty about the whole LJ business and actually am not quite sure whether I should resume it or not especially since college gahhhhhh and also my laziness-- really, mostly my laziness D: .)

Anyway, I have enjoyed reading your posts an incredible amount, even if I never respond! :D
