I sit in the back at dailies, so got to know the backs of people's heads long before the fronts. It seemed fitting I should do some rear-view caricatures...

Left to right: Frans Vischer, Mark Henn, Peter Del Vecho, Randy Cartwright, Ron Clements, Ruben Aquino, John Musker, Eric Goldberg, Tony DeRosa, and Nik Ranieri

Most of the time I have to exist in a state of denial to do my job and get through the day, but typing up that list of names made me feel 15 again. :)

Edit: When was the last time you saw one of these? I look forward to giggling over it. :D

It's funny, as I got older, art went from being a 'girly' thing in elementary and middle school to a field more dominated by guys in high school and college, especially in the more serious art classes. Animation especially is extremely male-dominated, but I think this is largely because the male brain is more facile with visualizing three-dimensional objects and analyzing how things work, both very important skills in animating. There are lots more girls in visual development and story, and the cleanup department is predominantly female, possibly in relation to women generally having better fine motor skills and attention to detail.

This is all completely unscientific but everything I've read about the differences between male and female brains is faithfully manifested in the animation world.

Hm, I agree with your theory.
