I resized them down a leetle to save excess loading time (if you want full-res you can download your own trailer!) and fiddled with the contrast and saturation (though I may be thrown off by monitor calibration). There are a couple of image banks where you can find practically any screencap you want (this one is useful...) so I'm not going to waste waking hours clutter up my LJ with redundant images. I'm only putting up ones about which I have something to say that might be of interest, or which I particularly like but you might miss when watching the trailer at speed.

In absolutely no order whatsoever:

So pretty.

SO MANY HAPPY ANIMALS.

How do they make dirty stagnant water look so pretty?

The shadows are SO FREAKING AWESOME YOU GUYS.

The obligatory A113 reference (it was the classroom number for character animation at CalArts back in the day) ... what amuses me is not so much its presence but the fact that there is at least one vehicle in this movie that does NOT have A113 on it.

A few of the masks are caricatures of crew members, but they mostly got hidden when the layering got done.

A subtle thing, but extremely cool: look at the pattern on the curtain. Do you see it? Look harder.

Katie, this one is for you:

I solemnly swear on all that is holy that I had nothing to do with this. I was hoping against hope that they'd colour his hair dark so it would be plainer. I'm glad this shot was in the trailer because otherwise I'd have had to wait almost two years from when I originally saw it, when it comes out on DVD, to show you.

There are many awesome things about Dr Facilier but one of my favourites is how rewarding it is to stop-frame his scenes.

OH YEAH BABY. (In case you're wondering, the masking got a little messed up but it'll be fixed in the final film)

1. What? Where? I only know one and it's in the masks scene but you can't tell it's a Mickey because the ears are too dark against the dark background ...

2. It's a catchy song! And, c'mon, that scene doesn't look all Mary Blair'd'out ... does it?

3. (see icon)

No, but seriously, it gives me such (evil?) glee to be on the other side of the fangirling. :D

I think it's the responsibility of Disney villains to be sexy, now. I fully expect it.

Also the villain is usually the only one who's sexual alignment is ambiguous enough to be assumed as my own (that is, androphilic).

You know ... [pensive sigh] ... I know it might sound a bit weird, but ... he's been my virtual officemate for the better part of a year, and while he is very entertaining to watch he is BAD NEWS. And I know the whole animated-character-fangirling thing is pure fantasy and conjecture, but if he were real, I would not advise anyone to have anything to do with him. Except watch. From a safe distance. Possibly in disguise.

Well I mean, it isn't as though I'd lust after him if he were real. I have a lover already, and I've had plenty of bad experiences with villainous types irl anyway. No worries.

Yeah, I know the feeling. ^^;; Don't worry, I already got burned by liking the mad, the bad, and the dangerous to know. It's not as fun as it looks.

Honestly I'm also fanning myself over the prince. He's tasty.

As far as characters I would actually want to date... Prince Philip comes to mind. Also Wiggins. And Jessica Rabbit...I mean, if she were single.
