I just thought I should share this fantastic cover art with the world:

THUD!

I suspect this admission will turn hundreds against me: I am a horrible traitor. I am looking forward to October 4 more than July 16.

Hmmmm....I don't think you are really such a traitor.you know,I'm such a potterholic but I have to notice to the point that not every single person who has read the-WONDERFUL-potter books must always be in love with them...it's a matter of taste and there is no accounting for taste!and about the cover, although I think it's not as wonderful as it could be,it has created an interesting and mysterious enviroment anyway....I'm really curious to know what did you find in disworld books that seemed so interesting to you? I think you have an interesting taste in books according to what I read in your entries about books...you seem to be a book lover...

well...you cant say you are a "traitor" just because you are fan of other books than the Harry Potter books....
ex.
I look almost that forward to Lemony Snicket 7 (i read them translated to danish) as i look forward to reveil the secrets in the next harry potter book...
uuuuuuuuuuh CANT WAIT!

Nah, she's a traitor and she deserves to be flogged... fifteen hundred times!

In the meantime, I'm picking out an appropriate robe for the Harry Potter party.

FIFTEEN HUNDRED?!

[breaks out in goggles]

I should probably not mention that treachery is a hanging offense ... er.

Potter and Pratchett

Nah, thats alright. And no, u shouldn't mention that it's a hanging offense... actually, nevermind. Its less painful.

Seriously tho, I can't blame you. I've only read Going Postal so far, but judging from that, the rest of them will be good. Moist is the man :)

Actually, I rather think Vetinari is The Man, at least in the sense of "The Man is getting me down" and "paying dues to The Man" ... haha.

I am looking forward to October 4 more than July 16.

Who isn't!?

(Excepting, of course, the millions of Harry Potter fangirls everywhere. :O)

Man o man... why don't we get the Paul Kidby covers in the good ol' USA? I mean, the American cover looks passably decent *this* time, but it doesn't even compare to the British release!!! Weak.

Oh, right, one more thing. Think of me when the floggings commence, 'cos I'm hot and that will help keep your mind from dwelling on the terrible pain. I'm generous like that.

My theories for lack of U.S. Kidbyliciousness:

1. Some marketing person at HarperCollins said, "People like bright colors! Let's make them with bright colors!"*
2. Some marketing person at HarperCollins said, "If we make the cover a lovely painting, someone might confuse these books with all the other fantasy novels that have lovely paintings. Can't be having that. Call up the Graphic Design crew."
3. Some marketing person at HarperCollins said, "We need something that says ... 'funny.'"
4. They didn't like Josh Kirby's art, way back when, so in the distribution deal HarperCollins said they'd do their own covers, thank you very much, and now they're stuck with the consequences.
5. They're jealous.

*See, they're American, so they spell 'colour' without a u and use double quotes. ;)

Yes, yes, the drawing and quartering is a technicality... ; )

Anyone who's read A Tale of Two Cities ought to know aaaalll about drawing and quartering. Really it's the drawing that's the gruesome part ... by the time that's done you probably wouldn't notice the quartering.

Yay capital punishment. You know, it's knowledge of history like this that puts 'cruel and unusual punishment' clause in the Constitution into a proper perspective.

haha yay for discworld!

Sorry. Im not a random stalker, I just like your art and was looking for more stuff.....and I luvre terry pratchett, so all is well.

Also on another random note (ok, not entirely random) do you have any tips on how to start er...animating? Well not animating per say...your drawing thingy....I can draw, I'm not completely hopeless, but I really want to try caricatures and trust me, my English teacher next year is just begging for a caricature....AP Lit is going to be boring like that.
