I work in an animation studio – on a 2D project, no less – and have not drawn all day.

Wait a minute ... how does this work, again?

10:30 pm
ARGH! THEY TOTALLY MOVED UP THE US RELEASE DATE FOR THUD! I TEAR MYSELF APART IN FRUSTRATED ENVY! Three days was OK, but three WEEKS?!

2D projects are so rare.

Enjoy it for all you can. Revel in it.

Is it done in Flash or on good ol' fashoined paper? Because THAT is a rerety nowadays, sadly.

Oh, it's good old-fasioned paper, but I swear I did more drawing on the last two CG projects I've worked on. Nutty.

I'm not doing the actual animtion – did you think it was a feature? Hah! Goodness no! No, just a TV show. 2D is still cheaper than Flash, I think*, so long as you get it done at a really cheap overseas studio.

*I THINK. I have nothing to back me up on this besides the cheaper shows on TV being traditional, still.

Wow! Can't remember the last time I saw animation paper in action. *sigh*

I was wondering, because the studio I work at uses Flash for traditional 2D animation. (And the bulk of the animation is done in house, which is nice!) Everything is done directly in Flash, except for the rough layouts.

I hope you don't mind my messaging you. But I've been on the discworld section of your website and I'm very impressed. Your Going Postal stuff was particularly great. Keep up the good work!

Three days was OK, but three WEEKS?!

Could you preorder it from the US? Or get your Mom to buy it for you and send it in the mail?

No, that would take about three weeks anyway. And then I'd be stuck with the ugly cover and all the typos. I'm just resentful of the devious way in which the release was moved up. Nasty, sneaky blaggards...

Blech. Join the club.

Tealin: go on half.com. They are selling ARCs (Advanced Reading Copies) right now.

Whoops, never mind. Only the American copy is sold there.

You know what is also not fair? My roommate knows someone who works at HarperCollins and tried to get an ARC and he said they don't have them up here – this is the benefit of living in a country where Mr Pratchett isn't so popular. Marketing.

I'll just have to be patient. I was good at that until this devious little trick...

Urgh! I talked to someone who read it, and she said it was his best ever. I so badly want that book!

First off.... YAYYYY YOU'RE LISTENING TO SACRED HARP!!!

Secondly, how sucky that you must be Pratchett-deprived for three weeks. I promise not to spoil anything. (Not that I intend to read it until I have a few of his OTHER books under my belt, but I still won't spoil a thing.) ;^)
