I looked up this word last week to see if it actually existed and ever since then – especially today – I've been hearing it all over.

I have had that happen numerous times with odd-sounding words I haven't encountered before. Oddly enough, the most recent word that has had that phenomonon happen to it was 'cuckold.' I read it in a book and looked it up, then read it in the newspaper and heard someone use it in conversation the next day.
