I would like to express my admiration for the theraputic effects of a well-crafted story arc, especially combined with the marvellously cinematic prose of the Amazing Mr Pratchett. While this hasn't quite perked up my drawing skills, it has made me want to draw, which is 5/8 of the battle.

Otto returns to the Times HQ only to find it ... quite changed. (pg 272, UK, if you're interested)

And a sketch for a drawing of Sacharissa which I would like to work out a bit more, maybe going for a more dramatic angle and, of course, doing some reasearch into firearms and how they are held because, frankly, this is pathetic:

That icon is *LOVE*!!!!!

Re: Gun: 19th Century Colt Pistols were too heavy to hold with one hand, especially by a chick (not to be siding with steriotypes, but we females generally have less upper body strength than guys). Nevertheless, she looks kick-arse!

good luck with Rita, BTW. She just waved Miami goodbye and by golly! I still have power!! :-D ...and Cabin Fever!

It's not a 19th century Colt pistol – it's fundamentally a crossbow, just sort of ... compressed ... it's got a, a, spring thingy. And a winding mechanism. So the barrel needn't be so heavily forged to withstand the force of the exploding gunpowder. The gears and spring and such might weigh it down a little, I suppose, but you'd have to ask the author about that.
