Nobby goes, um ... plainclothes. And sees a dragon.

Okay, I rather blatanly stole those shoes. I coudn't think of what sort of shoes to give him and those ones were just sitting there in my mental shoe closet waiting to be used, so there you go. I believe there are several references to Nobby stealing shoes, so at least it's in character.

Nobby is one of the few characters whose depiction by Paul Kidby I don't completely agree with – he's got the essential Nobbyness, but as far as physical features go he just looks, to me, like a shrunken-down Rincewind with spots. This isn't exactly how I pictured him, either (Nobby's image is very shifty in my mind, appropriately) but it's the closest I've gotten yet, so I've got a starting place, at least.

Oh yes, and that hand – I drew it over the gutter in my sketchbook and then couldn't decide on how I wanted the fingers to go so it's a bit of a monstrosity. Sorry.

Yes, but...but you gave him bangs! And he looks adorable! Argh! (And I hate drawing crew cuts, and don't like the Kidby version, save for one picture of him, Colon and Nobby in the Portfolio).

I promise not to tell you anything, in exchange for eventual Thud! art. *Goes back to drawing puppies.* Now, where did I put my non-photo pencil?
