So, I've got two days left in the year and about ten pages left in my sketchbook. I really want to put it to bed with the turn of the year, but am running low on inspiration, so here's the deal:

I will draw anything you want.

Okay, okay, not anything – it'll take a darn good argument to get me to venture into kissy stuff and I'm still against drawing from fanfic – but I invite everyone to post a comment with a request of something to draw and I will do my level best to draw everything that's suggested, and no matter how horribly it turns out, I will scan and post it all. The deadline is ... hmm, let's say Dec. 31, 20:00 (8pm) GMT.

Whoa... Okay, one suggestion each, people! And, uh ... I'll work on it. [bewildred]

Dec. 30, 10:11 pm
Um ... okay, here's how it's going to go: I will draw and draw until I hit the end of my sketchbook. I might keep drawing into the new one, but my deadline will evaporate and my free time will diminish rapidly after January 1, so who can say? Keep suggesting things, though (if you haven't already), because I'm going in the order of inspiration and what will fit on the page rather than first come, first served.

That's it! The deadline is upon us. Thanks very much for the overwhelming avalanche of requests... I'll try to do as many of them as I can.

My first impulse was to ask for Snape from HBP, in whichever scene most inspires you. However, someone else has already asked for Snape, so...

If you've read Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast books at any point, I'd love to see you draw Steerpike. Failing that, I'll take Stephen Maturin dissecting something (in his naturalist, rather than surgical, capacity).

What she said ^ (you know me :P)

I'd like to see your take on Tobias and Eileen!

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it) my vision of Steerpike (and for that mater, all of Gormenghast) was been forever coloured by the 2000 BBC production ... which was absolutely amazing, in my mind, so there's no way I'd want to go supplanting those images in my mind.

Actually, I'm just watching that production for the first time now, which is why it was on my mind. It is indeed well done. When I first saw the promo pics I thought Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was too good-looking to play Steerpike, but after seeing Episode One I was entirely won over.
