It is too short, but fortunately or unfortunately (however one takes it) there has been rumor of a sequel sometime in the future...

Yeah, the thought had crossed my mind that this is in many ways an origin story, but the only sequel I can think of follows the old 'Redeemed and then dies' storyline which ... would be great, I'm sure, but ... aaah!

I don't think it counts as a rumor anymore. I think they announced it at SDCC this afternoon.

It would help if his hands were differently placed. XD

I knoooow, it's an unfortunate coincidence of ideal nose-hand and ... less than ideal other hand. :[

What is he actually saying in that sequence? I can't make it out when I listen.

I don't know, something about ... something in his eye and something 'her to die'? I'm rubbish at deciphering spoken word at the best of times but I think in this case we're not really supposed to know...

"It hit me in my heart and it hurts inside" is the most popular speculation.

Honestly, its all the writer's strike fault ... or maybe not. IDK. All I know is that I probably won't see it until next week, after I see TDK for the second time/on IMAX for the first. :)

PS. Hehe, the way the guy is positioned you'd think he wasn't talking about the movie. XD

I'm having a hard time resisting the urge to make a joke about the size of his hammer. ;)

I'm leery of a sequel. Part of me is thrilled to death that there's gonna be one, but the larger, more cynical side of me remains wary and suspicious. And I don't want a "redeem and die" storyline. Maybe something more like Godzilla, where he goes from being a rampaging monster to defending the city from other monsters. And in a Scooby Doo moment at the end, Doctor Horrible pulls the rubber monster mask off to reveal OMGEVILPENNY!!! Ha! This writing thing's a cinch! ;)

Maybe he's afraid of people not liking it.

(Firefly, anyone?)

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Eesh, I go away for a week and everybody's talking about something I don't know about...

I don't know, but I'm beginning to feel like I really missed out on something.

Wow, I'm dumb. When I looked at the picture, I thought Captain Hammer was talking about the COUCH he was lying on.

A sequel sounds great, but I'm not sure how it can live up to the first one after all that's happened to Dr. Horrible and stuff.

Lol, I was amused the see that Chamba did a fan piece (http://lastscionz.deviantart.com/art/the-Horrible-and-the-Hammer-92774593) as well. The madness spreads quicker than the plague...

This is the second time I've been sent a link to that pic ... don't tell me that's the only other fanart out there.

(No, I haven't searched. You never know what you might find when you start turning over stones on the beach...)

I kind of hope they don't make a sequel. I'm pretty content with the way it is.
And as for fanart, I haven't been able to find very much, but I did add my own to the little there was:

I love Mr. Harris, but I sure do have trouble drawing him.

He is certainly a challenge. Been trying to crack him myself. I think I've got the construction all right but I have yet to come up with a good strategy for the eyes.

Yeah. The eyes gave me trouble, I think they are what's making the rest look off, but I can't be sure.

I've found that making sure the jaw is fairly square but angles inwards and keeping the mouth close to the nose gets the right feel for the lower part of the face. Also remember: enormous forehead (though this is less apparent when he's wearing his goggles). There's this sort of gutter that goes from the inside corner of the eye around the edge of the mouth (Daniel Craig has it too) which can sometimes be expressed with an eye bag line and sometimes with the nose-mouth line but if you try using both it looks really cluttered and ages him too much. Also, and this might just be me, even though when you're looking at him, his cheekbones seem pretty prominent, it feels more like him when you minimize them. Dunno if any of this helps, but there you go.

'Someone' has had way too much time on her hands lately. :D

I get the feeling you may have put some thought into this...
Very helpful though! I know what you mean about the cheekbones; my first instinct was to make them really sharp, but that definitely made it feel less like him. I sure wish there were some better reference pictures though, all the ones I've found have been tiny and pixelated.

If you buy it off iTunes you can both stop-frame it within the program AND open it in Quicktime, from which you can save images. Just find the frame you want, using the arrow keys to navigate forwards and backwards, then ctrl+C and ctrl+V in whatever graphics program you use.

CUNNING, EH? :D

I wouldn't know, though, I've been doing nothing of the sort ...
