That's My Cow!
Oct. 13th, 2005 09:13 amFinished.
I am now thoroughly Thud!ified.
Evidently, the secret to peace in the Middle East is board games. (are board games?)

Carrot goes in search of Angua, in The Fifth Elephant. I know absolutely nothing about horse riding and that's why the pictuer is cropped where it is. Gaspode is too darn cute and clean-looking. And I wish I'd had my previous drawing of Carrot for reference because he just doesn't look right here.

Coin the Sourcerer and Conina, barbarian hairdresser, from Sourcery. Coin looks like Blakeney because ... well, he does. Conina I need to colour for the full effect. No, there are no blood splatters, but she's striking in a colourful way. (Figuratively.)
If these pictures are really huge, please notify me in some way ... my monitor is set to a really high resolution and it's hard to judge what size they are on a normal screen.
POSSIBLE VERSES FOR 'WHERE'S MY DADDY?'
Where's my daddy?
Is this my daddy?
It goes 'Quack quack.'
It is The Duck Man!
That's not my daddy!
Where's my daddy?
Is this my daddy?
It goes 'Bark.'
It is Gaspode!
That's not my daddy!
Where's my daddy?
Is this my daddy?
It goes 'Ook.'
It is the Librarian!
That's not my daddy!
Where's my daddy?
Is this my daddy?
It goes 'AAAARGH!'
It is Rincewind!
That's not my daddy!
Where's my daddy?
Is this my daddy?
It goes 'Kablooie!'
It is a dragon!
That's not my daddy!
Where's my daddy?
Is this my daddy?
It goes 'Ah.'
It is the Patrician!
That's not my daddy!
I think I am getting carried away. It sure was funny at half-past midnight...

Date: 2005-10-13 05:24 pm (UTC)Didja like Thud? And yes, we just need to sit everyone down for a boardgame, preferable without sharp pointy pieces, and we might survive. Of course, as soon as the game finished, they're would be a fight over the rules or the method of winning, leading to yet another war....
Moooooooooo.

Date: 2005-10-13 07:13 pm (UTC)I have a question of more practical nature: before you scan your drawings, do you use a special kind of black pencil to trace over them, or do you just have a really good scanner? My scanner won't "do" pencil sketches.

Date: 2005-10-13 08:02 pm (UTC)Although Tealin's art is so good it's hard to believe there isn't a wirefram under them. To get this look, I have to use a non-photographic pencil first. *jealous*

Date: 2005-10-14 01:52 pm (UTC)And now that you've finished Thud, I get to hide spoilerific silly messages in my comments. Such as after reading pg. 290, I got a horrid image of Super!Carrot. (Hint: Magicked cart over head).
Where's my cow?
Date: 2005-10-14 06:49 pm (UTC)It has Foul Ole Ron, Detritus, the Patrician and more! (not including some rather interestingly placed animals)
From now on the fun never stops in my household.
"If you lose your cow you should reprt this to the Watch under the Domestic & Farmyard Animals (Lost) Act of 1809. They will swing into action with keeness and speed. Your cow will be found. If it has been impersonating other animals, it may be arrested. If you are a stupid person, do not look for your cow yourself. Never try to milk a chicken. It hardly ever works."

Date: 2005-10-17 06:01 am (UTC)Dang, Conina is really, really pretty, and I love Coin just on principal; his eyes and curls combined make for some chilling imagery. :O

Is this my daddy?
It goes 'Don't let me detain you.'
It is the Patrician! He rules the city!
Really don't let him detain you!
That's not my daddy!
. . . at least I hope that's right. :D

Date: 2005-10-21 09:33 pm (UTC)(In the picture, Vetinari looks a little like a wet rat, but Pterry's writing really makes up for it.)

Date: 2005-10-21 09:43 pm (UTC)I'm not sure about its rereading potential— reading Thud! is probably a better way to get the full impact of Where's My Cow?.

Oooo, good Coin with the frightening eyes.... heh, almost as frightening as Carrot's. In fact, that's an excellent Carrot -- completely unreadable. Way to go!
